Why Hopkins Baking Company?

While some bakeries offer a few organic options, we are producing an entire organic menu. Every customer we have the pleasure of serving deserves a clean and wholesome treat, regardless of what they order.
  • We take incredible pride in the wide range of high quality, clean organic ingredients we choose to bake with. Meaning, if we wouldn’t eat it in our organic home, we most certainly are not going to feed it to you! That also means:

    • NO bioengineered food ingredients or genetically modified organisms in our pantry ever.

    • NO artificial food dyes, preservatives, additives, fillers or dough conditioners added to our baked goods ever. In other words, NO chemicals, just pure organic actual food.

    • NO shortenings or seed oils; our buttercreams are made with real organic butter and our cakes are made with real organic olive oil.

    • LOADS of clean, authentic flavors produced with simple ingredients that you can actually pronounce and recognize.

  • Most people in our beloved country have become accustomed to massive bakery displays filled with large amounts of every treat imaginable, available for 12-14 hours almost every day of the week. Baking treats completely from scratch, in small batches using great care, is a practice that harkens back to a simpler time.

Frozen premade donuts, tubs of ready-to-use buttercream and preprepared croissant dough are just a few industry “helpers” that are offered in supplier catalogs to baking businesses. These products are cheap to acquire and can boost a bakery’s profit margins, but they are also factory produced and full of preservatives and artificial flavor. You will never find these items in our kitchen.

At Hopkins Baking Company, we make all of our elements completely from scratch. Our frostings, our fillings, our drizzles and our doughs are 100%, absolutely and completely OURS. This is why we are happy to discuss how we made them (and what’s in them) while we are busy making them yours at the bakery counter.

  • Hopkins Baking Company is proud to be owned by a veteran of the United States Marine Corps (and his cake-loving wife). All treasured active military and military veterans will receive a 10% discount off of every purchase they make in our bakery.

    Enjoy, Bon Appetite and Oorah!

  • Did you know that our menu changes every six to eight weeks? This is for a couple of reasons. First, sourcing organic ingredients is not always an easy, stress-free task (does anyone recall the recent bird flu and the exorbitant organic egg prices that came along with it?) More importantly, we believe that food is meant to be an adventure. A delicious, scrumptious, sometimes cheese-covered, other times buttercream-filled adventure. We like to try new recipes and new flavor combinations on a regular basis. Sure, some fan favorites stay on every menu (we actually suspect there might possibly be a customer uprising if we ever took a break from our famous Fluffy Cinnamon Rolls) but we do try to bring you new sensational seasonal flavors with every change up.

Don’t like blueberry? Are you looking for German chocolate cake? If we don’t have it now, just wait a few weeks and give us a call. Chances are what you want will be back soon enough, and you may just discover a new favorite while you wait!

Featured Recipe

HBC Avocado Toast

Slices of organic HBC Sourdough (Volcano is very awesome here as well)

Organic olive oil

Sea salt and black pepper

Smashed organic avocado

Organic everything bagel seasoning

Organic goat cheese

Organic arugula

Use as much or as little of the ingredients listed above to suit your personal taste buds. Pop your goat cheese into the freezer first thing, as this will make it easier to crumble. Prepare your arugula leaves by chopping them into smaller pieces. Drizzle your bread slices with olive oil and season with salt and pepper, then toast them in a 325 degree oven (or toaster oven) until they smell good and are as crispy as you like them. Remove your toasted bread from the oven and spread the smashed avocado on the bread slices, then sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning on the avocado. Pull the goat cheese from the freezer and scatter as many goat cheese crumbles on top of the toast as you wish. Finish your masterpiece by sprinkling your chopped arugula over the goat cheese. Lastly, grab a napkin and ENJOY!

Where to Find Us

We are located within Bishop’s Plaza, in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.

Certain location apps show our bakery as being inside of Bishop’s Supermarket, the anchor tenant of the plaza. This is not accurate. You can actually find us in between Rooted Yoga and Giovanni’s Pizza.

When in doubt, just look for our favorite chef to show you the way!
